OK Valley Home Inspections
I am a long-time (2004), fully-registered member of the Home Inspectors Association of BC (HIABC). I was recognized as a National Certificate Holder in 2009 and I am licensed by the Provincial Government. I am registered with Brookfield, the Federal Governments’ Integrated Relocation Program (IRP) and, I’m one of a few regionally approved “site and property inspectors” for the Province of British Columbia (“Public Trustee”) and the Federal RCMP (“Seized Property Division”).
As an independent, 100% Canadian inspector, I examine hundreds of properties every year. This includes single family residences, strata properties, mobiles and modular homes, log buildings, restaurants and workshops. My coverage area ranges from Revelstoke and Salmon Arm, to Grand Forks, Osoyoos, Merritt and Princeton.
Reports are usually e-mailed to you the day following the inspection - This report includes a custom “summary” prepared just for you, and an easy-to-read, very-detailed “inventory” of the homes’ physical elements. Personalized narratives in the summary explain discovered concerns, suggested solutions, and various maintenance guidelines.
Information is prepared according to guidelines set forth by HIABC. Besides the mandatory “standards of practice”, each inspector has his or her own unique way to convey inspected information - “Inspectors must exhibit thoroughness, tact and respect, when discussing concerns about the property with the client”.

PERSONAL STUFF I was literally born in a castle in Yorkshire, England - mom and I had a room just across the hallway from where Charles Waterton of Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta) was born years earlier. We traveled to Canada aboard the original “Queen Mary”. Yuuup, I’m really that old!
I grew up in Calgary and worked at the Firestone Tire Manufacturing Plant, and then up to Alberta Provincial Parks in Edmonton for 20 years. As a Certified Engineering Technician (CET), I’ve helped design facilities such as: park residences, workshops, pump houses, piers and water systems.
I love BC, traveling, web-page design, computers, writing newsletters, and hi-tech gizmos. I even learned country dancing with wife Susan as my teacher at the Rodeo Club and Ezzies in Edmonton.
Never want to slow down! Never want to get old! (But it’s happening anyway!)
